A faculty member in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences is seeking to hire an hourly student assistant to provide support for assistance with data collection from field and laboratory maintenance. It is expected that this position will be approximately 10/hours week, with most days and time flexible. There will be some on-site data collection activities in Kentucky that will require a physical presence and occur at specific times.

The Student Research Assistant will provide support for various projects related to digital soil mapping and spectroscopy research. Responsibilities include writing custom scripts for big-data collection and analyses, generation of figures, and scientific writing. Training will be provided including programming, statistics, and scientific writing. This position is for the fall 2024 semester and possibly beyond. Must have basic knowledge of python and R programming languages as well as basic understanding of soil science. |
